It depends on your nationality. Roughly 50 countries (UK, EU, Japan, Korea, Australia, NZ, Canada, etc.) get 30 days visa-free through end of 2026, and China offers 240-hour (10-day) visa-free transit for citizens of 55 countries — including the United States — with an onward ticket to a third country. Check our Visa-Free Transit Guide or contact your nearest Chinese embassy for the latest requirements.
